EPC Annual Retreat Update

Thank you for taking time to respond to the congregational survey whether or not to move forward with the EPC annual retreat scheduled for this spring. Based on your feedback, the Spiritual Formation Team made the decision to postpone the spring retreat until later this year. The Franciscan Retreat Center in Colorado Springs has agreed to our request for a fall time frame; and the retreat is now planned for Thursday, October 14 thru Saturday, October 16. Please mark your calendars. We hope to see you there.  

EPC Announces Limited In-Person Worship Starting February 7

The following statement from the EPC Session was released Saturday, January 9, 2021. We would like the EPC congregation to know that Session has approved a motion that will allow the church to open for face-to-face worship services in a limited fashion starting February 7. There is no question that Covid 19 still poses a continuing and ongoing threat and that significant precautions need to be in place to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus. However, Session feels that by limiting the number of people allowed to attend to a lower number than is even recommended by the State of Colorado and by mandating masks and social distancing that the church can lower the risk of transmitting to a level that can be accepted by those who personally decide to attend. More information will be sent out in the weeks ahead about how to register to attend and what safety procedures will be instituted to reduce risk. Ringing the Church Bells

President elect Biden has planned a lighting ceremony for COVID victims on January 19th at 3:30 p.m. (5:30 eastern time) in a national moment of unity and remembrance. He has asked for the lighting of buildings and the ringing of church bells. EPC will participate by ringing the church bells in a silent vigil to honor the victims of COVID. You are invited to join (with masks and distancing) as the bells are rung.

EPC Interim Pastor Search Update

The Interim Pastor Selection Committee is pleased to report that the necessary profiles and job descriptions have been approved by our presbytery liaison and will be posted this coming week. Interviews will begin as qualified resumes are received. We thank you for your faithfulness to pray and would ask for your continued prayers especially now as we start the interview process.
