Join us this time and learn about tending your life's garden with direction and purpose, creating a beautiful pathway to the center of God's heart. We'll have more inspirational presentations by Pat Russell, with break-out group discussions. Donuts and coffee will be waiting for you at 8:30, and we'll have pizza for lunch after the workshop. On Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. come learn about how to nurture the seeds God has planted in your heart. The EPC men's group, sometimes known as the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen In Christ (LEGIC) will begin meeting again on Saturday, October 23 at 7 a.m. in the manse. The new, earlier meeting time was set to make it possible for guys to get an earlier start on their day after the meeting. This portion of our Saturday gatherings is for Bible study, with the group presently engaged in a study called The Daniel Dilemma, How to Stand Firm & Love Well in a Culture of Compromise . Those who can will also be meeting for breakfast at Adriana's in Franktown at 8:15. The group would like to invite you in whatever way you would like to be involved, whether it's just for the Bible study, just for the breakfast, or both! You are invited to join us for a weekly Women’s Bible Study focusing on Spiritual Gifts beginning Monday, September 20, from 12:00 noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall.   God has created each of us with unique gifts and strengths. We also are given specific gifts of the Spirit that enable us to serve God and build up the Body of Christ in special ways. During our study, we will be learning more about the gifts of the Spirit and giving people the opportunity to take a “spiritual gifts inventory” that can help people discern what their spiritual gifts might be. God gifts each of us through the power of the Holy Spirit so that we can be equipped to serve in the Body of Christ. As each one of us uses our gifts, the church is built up and we are better equipped to fulfill the purposes for which God has for us as we reach out to our community with the love of Christ. Once again, EPC is participating with Team Zimbabwe at the annual Elephant Rock Cycling Festival on June 6. There are three ways you can participate and help us raise funds for the 800 desperate orphans and vulnerable children of Heather Chimhoga Orphan Care in northeastern Zimbabwe. HOLY WEEK SERVICES 2021 Maundy Thursday , April 1, at 7 pm : Although we will not have our traditional foot-washing service performed by the EPC Deacons; we invite you to a service of music, scripture readings and communion.     Good Friday , April 2 :   The church will open at 5 pm for quiet reflection and individual worship time. Then at 7 pm we will have a service of music and scripture readings; and for those attending in person, you will have the opportunity to symbolically release your sins and griefs to Jesus by writing them on a small card, folding and tacking to the wooden cross in the sanctuary. Easter Services, April 4 : Join in the celebration of the Resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ at our 8:30 am in-person/streaming service. Dear EPC, The Interim Pastor Search Committee is excited to announce that Pastor Becca Jordan-Irwin will be joining us as our Interim Pastor! Pastor Becca currently lives in Monument, Colorado with her husband Dave. Dave is also a pastor and they have two adult children.   Becca has served as a pastor for 30+ years while continuing to be personally involved in prison ministry, international missions, youth and children’s development, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, education, and Presbytery committees. We discovered during our interviews that she has a passionate heart for Jesus and all of his people. These valuable traits along with a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary make her well equipped and a wonderful fit for our EPC family. We are currently offering one in-person worship service at 8:30 a.m. on Sundays, with elements of both traditional and contemporary worship. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged. You can reserve a seat for yourself and your family by clicking here . For those who still feel uncomfortable coming back to in-person worship services, we will continue to livestream and record the services. Thank you for taking time to respond to the congregational survey whether or not to move forward with the EPC annual retreat scheduled for this spring. Based on your feedback, the Spiritual Formation Team made the decision to postpone the spring retreat until later this year. The Franciscan Retreat Center in Colorado Springs has agreed to our request for a fall time frame; and the retreat is now planned for Thursday, October 14 thru Saturday, October 16. The following statement from the EPC Session was released Saturday, January 9, 2021. We would like the EPC congregation to know that Session has approved a motion that will allow the church to open for face-to-face worship services in a limited fashion starting February 7. There is no question that Covid 19 still poses a continuing and ongoing threat and that significant precautions need to be in place to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus. However, Session feels that by limiting the number of people allowed to attend to a lower number than is even recommended by the State of Colorado and by mandating masks and social distancing that the church can lower the risk of transmitting to a level that can be accepted by those who personally decide to attend. More information will be sent out in the weeks ahead about how to register to attend and what safety procedures will be instituted to reduce risk. President elect Biden has planned a lighting ceremony for COVID victims on January 19th at 3:30 p.m. (5:30 eastern time) in a national moment of unity and remembrance. He has asked for the lighting of buildings and the ringing of church bells. EPC will participate by ringing the church bells in a silent vigil to honor the victims of COVID. You are invited to join (with masks and distancing) as the bells are rung.

The Interim Pastor Selection Committee is pleased to report that the necessary profiles and job descriptions have been approved by our presbytery liaison and will be posted this coming week. Interviews will begin as qualified resumes are received. We thank you for your faithfulness to pray and would ask for your continued prayers especially now as we start the interview process.
