Online Gatherings Picking Up Steam
Temporarily unable to
gather in person, many EPC teams, groups and ministries have set up online
virtual gatherings to continue their work and their fellowship.
The go-to technology for
these meetings has become Zoom video conferencing, which allows high definition
video and audio, enabling participants to easily join meetings, see each
other's faces and communicate real-time. To sign up for a free zoom account,
visit zoom.us.
First out of the box was
AA. The group, which
normally gathers downstairs at EPC began weekly online AA Meetings immediately
after the suspension of all group activities at EPC.
The women's "Light
in the Midst of Winter" group was able to complete its Monday evening Beth
Moore study called "To Live Is Christ," sharing the video online and
enjoying warm, "face-to-face" discussion.
The Saturday morning
men's group
resumed its study of "The New Testament You Never Knew" meeting in
the Zoom room last Saturday. The group plans to invite all the men in the
church to join the next online session at 8 a.m. Saturday morning. This is a
great opportunity for guys to join the meeting without getting up too early and
without getting out of their pj's. Meeting invitations will go out by email. If
you are interested please contact Phil Wood at woodwritings@gmail.com.
The EPC Mission Team held it's first online
meeting on Thursday evening, March 26.
The EPC Elders and
Deacons
have both had their first online meetings and will continue to do so.
The Adult Sunday School hopes to resume its
video study of John Orberg's "God Is Closer than You Think" this
coming Sunday, April 5.
As other groups begin to
come online for their meetings, we'll keep you posted. Check here at the EPC
News Desk often!

The Denver Street School
(DSS),
one of the ministries supported in part by offerings received at EPC, has
reported the passing of its beloved founder, Tom Tillapaugh. You can join the
celebration of this amazing man's life tomorrow, Thursday, April 2, at 9:30
a.m., as the memorial service is live streamed from the Believing for Tom FB
Page, DSS Facebook page and DSS YouTube channel.
The Zimbabwe Mission
Partnership,
another EPC sponsored ministry, has announced that Team Zimbabwe plans to
"ride" in the annual Elephant Rock cycling event, whether or not the
event goes on as planned. The group rides to raise funds for orphans and
vulnerable children in Zimbabwe. The desperate needs of these children
continue, whether or not the ride actually takes place. If Elephant Rock is
cancelled due to coronavirus, the group will do a virtual ride, raising funds
online. To find out how you can ride and raise funds (even if you're just
pumping a pedal machine from your easy chair) click here.
